Public Hearing on prospoed Local Law No. 1 of 2025
Supervisor Freiner read the proposed local law abolishing the elective office of town clerk and creating the appointed office of town clerk of the Town of Burns NY. After the proposed local law was read, the board decided to not vote because Justina Hockenbery who was appointed in March & decided to run for office. Since she completed the proper paperwork and submitted it to the Allegany County Elections Board in time to be on the November ballot, the board agreed it was no longer necessary to proceed.

Codes Enforcement: Supervisor Freiner read Samantha’s report.
Clerk Report-Justina Hockenberry gave a report on what she has accomplished the first few weeks of being the new clerk. She is all set up for doing death and marriage certificates. She is also working on getting the dog licenses renewed and submitting letters to the current owners who need to update their dog licenses.
Highway Report-Glenn Odell: The garbage in the tunnel on Bull Road has been taken care of. Mail was found with the owners name, address dumped the trash in the tunnel. The highway crew had to clean it up. Glenn figured up the bill to charge the people. The garbage had to go to Belmont. The 2012 International engine & manifold need repair-1200k for parts. Glenn informed the board that two pipes on North Hill road have been crushed due to the heavy manure trucks. This will require replacing the two pipes, digging down 4 feet deep and blacktopping over the area. The road was newly blacktopped two years ago. The Western Star needs to be serviced. The Excavator where the pivot point is, replace pin & bushings. The grader was serviced.

DCO John Owens: 3/13 picked up a dog and took it to the town building for food, water. The dog belonged to Nick Fox.

Old Business: Bicentennial update, Chase Tascone to visit the board at the May meeting, AES representatives to attend the May meeting.
New Business: Resolution to move $5,000 from Bridge reserve to NY class bridge reserve, Move highway equipment reserve $60,000 to NY Class Equipment Fund
